Over the past three months, the Digital Reef team have been focusing on producing various reports and documents required by the Local Planning Authority. Alongside this, we have been engaging closely with the local community to explore how the project can support jobs, skills development, and business opportunities across Havering.
East Havering Careers Fair
Last Friday, Digital Reef participated in the annual careers fair at Bower Park Academy, part of the Empower Learning Trust, engaging with students from Year 7 to Year 11. At the event, we highlighted the rapidly growing digital infrastructure sector, emphasising its transformative impact and the diverse career opportunities it offers. Our presentation aimed to inspire curiosity by showcasing how digital infrastructure enables innovation across various industries while providing students with resources and practical advice to explore this exciting field.
July 2024 – Business leaders meet with Digital Reef
In July, Managing Director of Digital Reef Eleanor Alexander met with leaders from organisations across Havering, including the Chamber of Commerce, London Riverside BID, Romford BID and New City College. It was an informative evening, where the organisations learnt more about the plans for the data centre campus and ask any questions from Eleanor, as well as exploring opportunities for how the scheme can support businesses across the borough through investments into jobs, skills, and training.
May 2024 - Digital Reef meets with site neighbours
In May, Digital Reef held in person and online events to share further details of the proposals with the local community. The Digital Reef team would like to thank all the close neighbours who attended the webinar or came along to these drop-in sessions and shared thoughts, questions, and concerns. The team appreciate the input on the scheme which have helped to advance the plans and ensure that investment is being directed to ensure benefits are felt locally.
